Dr David Harrison
David qualified from the University of Sydney in 1981 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. He spent 10 years working as a general dentist in both the public and private sector before graduating with a Master of Dental Science in Orthodontics at the University of Sydney in 1995.
David strongly believes in providing education, having completed a Diploma of Education from the University of Newcastle in 1987 whilst he was practicing as a general dentist. He was the lead author of the Dental Assistants course used in NSW TAFE and was a tutor in the anatomy department at the University of Sydney in the early 1990s.
He brings to his patients a wealth of knowledge and believes in taking the time to answer all questions to ensure that everybody under his care is comfortable with every step of the way. He plays golf in his spare time and is planning to publish a book about his own system of bidding in the game of Contract Bridge.
Dr Hong-An Nguyen
Hong-An has over 30 years of experience in dentistry. She graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1987 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and went on to spend her first year working in Wagga Wagga Base Hospital where she quickly developed her passion for orthodontics. She became a qualified Orthodontist in 1994 from the University of Sydney and has been with Maitland Orthodontics since 1996.
Hong-An embraces the everyday challenges of her work and shares her patients’ satisfaction when their braces come off. She is most fulfilled when she sees her patients gain confidence through their smiles, improve their function and develop good oral habits that she knows will last them a lifetime.
In her spare time, she looks after her 3 ‘nearly adult’ children, enjoys gardening, bush walking, swimming and giving Charlie, the family dog, exercise.
